Hello Ladies!
Happy Valentine Day!
Do you celebrate Valentine Day?
I know Valentine day is overrated, commercial, tacky.. and ect and ect...you know what i mean, but what the heck!
Mr D and I are having supper tonight at a new bistro in the hood called
Le Chasseur - ( The Hunter)
It serves regional tapas which they say are bigger than an appetizer but smaller than a main course
One the of the chef is a finalist from CBC's show Les Chefs
Tonight it's a 5 course meal starting at 6 - Will have ample time to digest this gargantuan feast!
I took my pics outside this week - It was so mild for this time of year -
What a difference it makes to shoot outside
The colors and sharpness are incredible!
Awwwww ! Spring i tell you it won't come soon enough for me!
On the job hunt scene...
I didn't get the job - They took a long time before reaching a decision
The Lady at the employment agency felt bad for me - I was the favorite contender - They said my profile was excellent -
That's life and as i said before things happened for a reason
It forces me right now to rethink what i want
A full time position or short time work?
Short term work would allow me to decide when i want to work
I would never get bored
I would constantly meet new people
I would explore new fields
If you were debt and children free?
Would you choose the flexibility and freedom of short term work?

If I were debt free, I absolutely would choose short term work and would approach things so differently. I must work full time to help our family, but without the shackles of the debt (mostly from colleges for three) I would have a little more fun! Don't worry...there has be something for such a sweet, creative woman as yourself. Happy Valentine's Day...have a wonderful dinner with your husband.
First, you look fabulous - love a pleated skirt like this and what a wonderful cropped jacket.
Second, you will make a good decision about work, bien sur - I am also debt and child-free and I love working part time, about 3 days a week. It gives me a lot of freedom and flexibility, and it makes me love my work more : >
Bonne St-Valentin!
Continue a nous tenir au courant pour ta démarche d'emploi! La mienne ne va pas aussi bien que j'aimerais :( Mais ce weekend je travaille pas donc je peux y consacrer plus de temps!
Happy St V's! Hope you have a fantastic time tonight and eat the most delicious food!
Lovely to see you outside, the colours are fabulously vibrant and you look stunning as always. That mustard skirt is so cute!
I'm kid-free and debt-free and work for me, I'll never be rich but I'm happy. I'm sorry you didn't get the job but you were very close, you must impress everyone you meet! xxx
Have fun at your feast tonight, sounds like it will be amazingly yummy! The outside pics look fantastic. At this point in my life I can't even imagine being debt/child free... At least you have lots of options, which is always nice :)
I must say, I'm feeling a bit frustrated on your behalf about that job! But as you say, it all happens for a reason. As to the short term work, I would prefer that. I am a short-attention-span person, and I usually develop boredom and/or unhappiness with a job within a year or two. Of course, I've usually stayed at my jobs for up to ten years, so that's a lot of unhappiness!
Anyway I really stopped by to say today's outfit is really stunning. Your eye for colors is amazing.
Happy Valentine's Day!
Wow that is one beautiful skirt on you! No celebrations of Valentine's day outside of the home as everything here gets jacked up in prices...we will go for dinner tommorow. Very new to your wonderful blog so I am debt free (worked very hard in my 20's) 3 kids so I work part time which is nice at my age as it lets me explore new things!

'd go for short trend any day. If I didn't work at a university and I work in theatre, most jobs are short term. That last sentence doesn't make much since, but I think you get what I'm tiring to say.
Enjoy San Francisico
Man! These people must be Nuts to not hire you! Nuts! I used to work in a PR firm and some of the BEST new employees were temp people that we liked so much we asked them to stay. Anyone would be fortunate to hire you. You are a GEM!
Darling look today Ariane. The coat of the jacket is superb, and I can't say enough about the colours. Love them all! When I next get to Montreal, I will definitely check out Renaissance.
Sorry to hear that the job didn't work out. My husband accepted a short term contract job, and it blossomed into being self employed and pure happiness. Think about it!

Photos are so much better outside.
I love, and want everything you are wearing, my dear Ariane.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXx
May be it is because of the outside fotos but it may also be because of your beautiful outfit, you look like a promise of spring. Your hair is a bit shorter again, that looks fantastic.
I'm without children now and without depts anyway but if I should take that decision I would always prefer the full time position. For me it's a feeling of freedom too that when I leave the office I can do what I want and must not think about finding a new job, a new challange, a new project within a certain time. I know what I'm talking about Mr. U. is a free lancer for 20 years now and there are goods times with many jobs and bad times with less. Can be managed of course, particularly by a woman like you. But I prefer the certainty (but I never had a job that really bores me).
I think you will find the right decision and than the right job fill find you.
Lieben Gruß von Sabine
Happy Valentine's Day!!
Love this colorful outfit...the skirt is especially wonderful! And I never would've thought to add those tights: you've got some serious color-mixing skills!!!

Short time definitely, if I even worked at all!
These pics are super sharp - you look lovelier than ever.
lovely colors, that tights and skirt are fabulous, and love your lipstick color!, glad you're enjoying a mild weather time!
i'm also a no children girl, and working full time is actually great for me, but I think you're going to have your own great short term job if you wish it!
besos
It's always lovely to go out or great food, whether it's Valentine's Day or any other day - hope the tapas lives up to your expectations.
What a shame you didn't get the job. I am sure it's only a matter of time before you find a position that is right for you.
Cute skirt, what a great colour. xxxx
I love that skirt, and remember my mom has a few of those on the midi length. It looks great in the knee length, more modern in my opinion. Enjoy your dinner
If don't have financial worries and I think you don't,then start with the temporary job, a temp job can turn into a permament position very easily..in Europe companies don't offer perm positions anymore, they want to get to know the employees first, monitor them for a year and then offer a permanent position..I read you're a translator too, why don't you start sending your cv along with excerpts of translations done in the past to a translation agency? You might work from home and schedule your work with no crazy bosses around...or you could work as an interpreter and work some days a month, it is a very well paid job..
Hope you had a lovely Valentines day :) Love your skirt and the colour. I am starting to feature guest bloggers styles every Saturday in a new share your style blog hop, would love to feature you one week? you wear amazing clothes and I always look forward to see what you are wearing next...

These are great photos of you - it does make such a difference being able to shoot in natural light! Hopefully we will be able to do more of it soon.
I am so sorry you didn't get the job but it sounds like they really liked you - I would be curious as to what was it that made them offer it to someone else.
If I was debt free (I have no kids) I would still work to fund travelling, I would work fewer hours. I did short-term jobs, contracts, and temp work for a number of years and the instability and constantly changing co-workers and duties wasn't my thing. Sounds like short term work might be the right thing for you right now though.
Happy belated Valentine's to you, Ariane, I hope your tapas was amazing - I love tapas restos; they were all the rage in Toronto before I moved to the UK.
Sorry about the job, that must have been disappointing. I can't advise you on what to do; I bet you'll follow your gut and heart and make the right decision for you - and nothing is in stone, right?
Love that pop of orange. Nice to know it's warmed up a bit in MTL. It was like spring here today! Have a great weekend! xoxo
That's a great, great skirt! Such a fun color. And sounds like your dinner with the husband was fantastic...I'm quite jealous! You'll have to share some pics.

I hate it when potential employers do that, what exactly where you missing if you're so good for the job but they turn you down. I'm sure something good will take it's place. I love your spring colours, especially the yellow skirt, it's stunning with the pink and purple pattern shirt
I love all the color! And the thrifting. Since opening a thrift store...well, you can guess where most of my stuff comes from anymore. Debbie
I'm lucky, Ariane, I work part time and love it!
Love your choice of colors. Skirt is adorable.
Its been mild here too and I would love to take pics outside. I agree colors are so much better!
You look great and what an amazing idea to take photos outside. They somehow look more alive! Hope you had a lovely V-day celebration!

Hmm, short term work does sound enticing, the way you describe it. I love your colorful outfit today :) Hope you had a delicious dinner!
Maybe you should try part time for a while Ariane, and see how it goes. You can always keep interviewing for full time as well if you see anything that interests you. You sound like you have a very busy life anyway so maybe part time would give you time to enjoy your life while still keeping your work life ticking over? xx
Your outfit is just the inspiration I needed for a dress that I bought recently. For once it's a second hand dress - and it's orange! Now where do I get yellow tights in my size?
The tapas sounds lovely - like something I'd be eating too if such a restaurant was close by.
The job situation is sadly all too common these days - even in Scandinavia. A good friend of mine lost her job just before Christmas, and she's over qualified for most of the positions she's applying for.
I know that she's thinking seriously of taking a part time job (she's 52 years old). She has been working hard all her life, taking extra hours very often. It sounds a lot like your situation.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do!
Sorry Ariane, I think I somehow erased my comment, but I'm not sure - so maybe you'll get a double!
You fantastic outfit is just what I needed for inspiration! I recently bought a dress, real second hand for once, and it's orange! Now I just need to find yellow tights in my size. Thank you so much!
A good friend of mine lost her job just before Christmas. She's been applying for lots of jobs, and often gets turned down with the explanation that she's over qualified.
Lately she's been talking about taking a part time job. After having worked so hard for years (she's 52 years old), doing extra hours many times, she feels it's time to explore other sides of life. It sounds a bit like your situation.
Colorful and thoughtful!! You lift my spirits. I would choose part-time or short term work, I think, unless something came along that was exciting and fulfilling.
Thinking of you!! XXOO

Looking awesome mom! love the outdoor pics you look radiant!
oh what a beautiful color combo, pink, mustard and yellow!
kiss,mary
I'm a bit late in commenting but I just wanted to agree with your daughter and say...
WOW, you look radiant in those pics!
I love this outfit, gorgeous colour mix and I do so enjoy a pleated skirt.
Sorry to hear that you didn't get the job...I'm willing a really great one to come your way, don't know if it'll work but it's worth a try ;)
I've never been a career person & have always had (as my beloved mother puts it) "ants in my pants" so for me short term work is the only option. I get morbidly depressed if I have to do the same job day in and day out for more than a year. Maybe if I was to work with animals or conservation, I'd feel different?
I'm off to check out your latest post now :)
Love this look Ariane! Amazing thrifted pieces!
