(Just) Keep Calm

Hello Ladies
How are you doing?

I did my best to reply to everyone, I get a lot of traffic and comments

I Love it!

No i didn't get the job - It's OK, It wouldn't have worked anyway
My guts told me it was not a good fit
The employment agency confirmed it - It was not a good fit for that firm
They agency who attempted to place me there told me -

You are an excellent candidate Ariane
We will find you a job
You scored well on the French and English grammar tests
You have tons of experience

Your references are awesome
You 're sweet

I tell you it's quite an experience
I'm learning a lot about  myself
I'm gaining confidence

12 years at the same place you don't know what are worth

Tests, interviews, feedback made me realize I'm pretty damn competent

It's a good thing...

I wore this outfit a my second interview at the translation firm

I realize more and more that i don't want just any job - I want a job that will make me happy
I understand that it's not always the case, sometimes you need that job to pay the bills
I'm lucky i don't - I can choose now
It was not always the case - In the past I accepted any job that came my way because i was a single mother of 2 who had to work  to pay the bills!
As the sweater says
Yes! keep calm everything is under control !
You are the best Ariane!
Next week promises to be busy
Interviews, workshops...I will keep you posted
I was wearing for this post-
Shirt - Thrifted at St-Vincent de Paul - $1
Sweater- Retail - Forever 21
Skirt- Guess- Thrifted- $5
Booties- Thrifted - $9
I will be back soon

Before you leave the web Girls have a look at Rosemary 's It's Story Time

You will find a job, Ariane! I just know it and what great things they said about you...I want to find a sweater like this!! I have learned to keep calm...but it took me along time to learn it!

I like your thoughts about being someplace for so long, we don't know what we're worth. That's so true. You're learning so much just in going to these interviews about yourself. Finding a job is no easy task. It's like trying to fit into some kind of family after being an orphan or traveler for so long. Then you get in there and realize that you're not the "outsider" after all.
I'm sending you hopeful thoughts that your best job EVER will come very soon.

It's true, if the fit wasn't good, you wouldn't have been happy, Ariane, so good for you for taking the good things from the experience and moving on. And what a relief that you're not completely desperate and can take your time finding something you truly love. Cute look today!

P.S. I responded to your comment on my blog in French! Xoxo

I need your sweater!! Yes, just keep calm. It sounds like you have an amazing resume and I agree, life is too short to work at a job you hate. Good luck!

Who wouldn't love you and your fabulous attitude to life but it's nice to be told those things by the agency just to confirm it!
That sweater is fabulous, such a funky contrast to the brocade skirt! xxx

Hi Ariane!
Great outfit for the interview! You are so lucky that in Quebec they don't mind so much about wearing formal suits at interviews and let people be themselves and dont judge them for it, here in Italy unless you wear a 500 euros suit at the interview, "tu es nul", fortunately you can find business suits at the weekly market for less than 30 euros...good luck for your search, I'm still searching and filling a teaching position in a night school for adults teaching French....but it's only until the end of february...

Oh, you look so adorable in this look Ariane, but then you always do. I think you are wearing exactly the right outfits to attract the position that is right for you. Having the gift of two languages, a necessity in Montreal I know, gives you a leg up. I would love to see you in a job where you can interact with the public, and share all your fun outfits and hair colours with. Somewhere like the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.

Hello Ariane,
when you don't feel good it's better not to take the job. We have so many working years ahead. The job now coming should be the right one. I think you know what you want and you know what you can get so the best job will come. If not today then tomorrow.
You look so cute again. I love your boots and this nice little pattern of your skirt, beautiful.
Have a great weekend my dear!

Oh, Ariane, thank you so much for your mention of my blog entry, "It's Story Time". That was really sweet of you to help me re-establish my blog. Hugs and kisses!!

I'm glad you are realizing your worth and not grabbing just any ol' job because you have to. How wonderful to work for the joy of it, as well as the income. May you find something that really suits you!

Thanks again. Merci beaucoup!!

I'm glad to hear your confidence is growing Ariane, maybe you needed this time of reflection from yourself and feedback from others to get your best job ever. I really hope you find something you love doing. Your interview outfits are always so cute, but all your outfits are so cute! Good luck with everything. xx

Everyone deserves to be happy at work, although lots of us have had to settle for less. I'm sending you all my best wishes on the job hunt! I've had so many boring jobs, so now that I have the chance, I'm getting myself an education that will take me in a more interesting job direction. Your outfits are bound to inspire the right employer! I love that you haven't started altering your style into what's considered "work appropriate" (=boring!)

Yes, "your" job will come and they'll be lucky to have you!! You would brighten anyone's day, too. I love the sentiment on your sweater-so true.

I want that sweater!

I feel ya on the single mom thing. I did it two times around, and feel lucky to share the parenting of teens with the Absent Minded Professor. Unfortunately, we're not at the point where we don't have to work yet :(
