Fall Fabulous

Hi Ladies!
How was your weekend?
This weekend we went to the Gardens of Light at the Chinese Garden at the Botanical Gardens

It was pure magic -  It is so unique

The weather is still very mild
I took the pics outside today

Now a few pics of the Gardens of Light at the Chinese Garden

My mother called me from the thrift shop Friday

She asked me - Ariane i found those exquisite Italian leather boots but there have pointy toes- Is this still trendy? I told my mom - Mom do you like them? How do you feel in them?
I said Mom wear what you want to wear - Don't worry about trends, who cares!

If you feel fabulous buy them!

I don't believe in styling rules or what is right or wrong fashion wise

I get lots of look from people  -  Tell you the truth i like it -

I know i am different

I am happy  to say that have the confidence to wear what i choose to wear -

I look at people straight in the eyes and say to myself aren't i Fabulous today!

The grand kids were carving pumpkins today for Halloween !

This is Leonie's pumpkin

Be happy - Be Fabulous - Be true to yourself -

We only have one life to live and our time on this earth is short

A Bit Of Pink

Hi Ladies !

Did i tell you i was putting a little pink in my hair?
Some of you Ladies who have been following me for a while know that i change my hair constantly
I am pretty happy with the bleach beach blond, i just made that up bleach beach blond, I am aloud  I'm French !... kidding!

I'm currently obsess with pink, blue, violet, red hair colors!

I swear to you if i was not working in a office i would have green, red or violet hair!

But for now, i say for now! i put a little pink in my hair

It is actually darker than what you see

Sarah my sweet neighborhood hairdresser did it

It was her first time working with colors

She was a bit worried it would not stick

She was so happy with the results that she said -  Ariane you know what? -  lets layer colors next time!

Go, go, Sarah  ! what do you think i should get besides pink?

The skirt  i found in a thrift shop

It is from Quebec Designer Katrin Leblond

This is what thrift shopping is all about , finding treasures, one of a kind

The black boots i bought retail last year - i wear them often - perfect for walking in the city

Those pics were taken by Izzy last Sunday, we were on our way to the Exchange and Vintage Sale
I did not get much - A couple of dresses that is it and i got my nail done
by lovely Laura Boo of Drop Dead Manicure

The jean coat with the faux fur is another fabulous thrift shop find

E is doing very well, her eyes is very puffy, she can't open her eye but she is in good spririt

She had 2 check ups at the hospital since the surgery and the doctor said that it is healing very well

Thank God for that!

Good health is important - Take care of yourself
We take our good health for granted sometimes

You never know what will happen next-

Enjoy your life and be crazy Ladies!

I hope you enjoyed this post!

I will be back soon

Grey Boots And A Pineapple

 Hi Ladies

Again i would like to thank you for all your lovely comments, support et  vos gentillesses

Welcome new followers and readers

I wanted to post earlier this week but it just never happened!

There are weeks like that -  Too many things happening!

Talking of too many things happening and before i talked about my outfits i have to tell you that  Mr. D's Daughter learned this week that she has retinal detachment

She went to a ophthalmologist in feb and the idiot didn't spot it - she had a eye scan and several tests and he couldn't figured it out - He sent her to a specialist - With the health care situation here it took ages i guess to see a specialist

She saw the specialist this week - he figured it out, he wondered why the ophthalmologist didn't figured out!

E will get emergency surgery today in both eyes - It is pretty bad - It's noon my time- she will be operated on around 2 pm my time

Please send your positive vibes, toughts and prayers  - she will need them for the months to come

Now the outfits ! and i am still smiling!
I am dedicating all my smiles to E today !

I wore the yellow skirt  before-  It is made of vintage fabric - I like wearing that skirt , it is always a challenge to wear because i never know what to wear with it -   i make it difficult for me- Am I a clothes masochist ?

I could take a simple monochrome shirt, tee or sweater- but i can't do that - too easy, too predictable-

I am nuts!

I think pairing it with  the pineapple sweater is quite brilliant - Nuts are brilliant!

The pineapple recalls  the yellow pattern of the skirt!

 80s boots
Morning coffee !

This skirt was shortened - I chopped it off!
That skirt is from my mother's closet
Remember i was there when she purged her closets!

Talking of Mom - She told me a funny story this week
My mom is a musician
She conducts a choir on a volunteer basis
A lady in the choir brings her little dog with her
They were all singing when mom heard that not everybody was in tune
Believe or not it was the dog singing!
Mom said he was off just a bit!

Psychedelic cord shorts 80's or 90s?

Izzy and I are going to a Exchange your clothes Event in Grffintown this weekend

It is called  FallBack Vintage Sale and Clothing Exchange  It is at Espace Griffintown on Sunday Oct 21

We bring some clothes and go back home with new ones -   I think it is so much fun !

I hope you enjoyed this post

I will be back soon

Smiling Makes Me Want A Pattern

Hi Ladies!
How was your weekend!
Mine was happy and relax

Friday night Mr. D , Mr.D's daughter E, grand kids  and I went to a Japanese Restaurant not far from home
Nothing extraordinary, the food was not that good , do you remember those  Asian restaurants where they cooked in front of you?
We paid for the show
Big great flames - A volcano they call it -
The kids were impress

We went out again Saturday night this time to the hood's Portuguese restaurant
Pizza and fries we had- Oh boy! Junk food madness!
I am usually so healthy -
It happens once in a while - I crave the junk - I say indulged yourself - don't beat it - Go for it - It will not kill you  -
A little excess once in a while keeps you happy i say

What do you think?

I took the pics inside this weekend
Turned ok with  the lens i use outside
But always better to take pics outside

The winter nightmare is coming back slowly !

I will take more pics in

I took the pics in the living room

I smile a lot don't I !

Delightful daughter Izzy told me to smile more
Mom she said why don't you smile more
You should! Wearing so many vivid colors should make you smile!
What do you think?
Is it ok?
Or do i look bizarre smiling that much?

All am wearing for this post i paid not more than $5 except for the boots

Lets cook!
Last weekend i tried my hands at Vegetarian Shepperd's Pie
The corner store/ Traiteur/ Cafe
Makes an excellent Shepperd's Pie
But i figured it was easy to make

This veggie recipe is man tested ! Mr. D took 2 helpings!

When a guy takes 2 helpings of Veggie Sheppard's Pie you know it's good

There is hope Ladies for those Men!

Here's the recipe>>

5 or 6 sweet potatoes cooked and mashed
Yellow pepper - I chose Yellow peppers, you can use green, red...
Red onions or a regular onions
1 tomato
Herbes de Provence, sea salt, pepper or whatever you like

Corn - If available - i guess you could  use carrots -  Us Quebecois  like our corn in  our Shepperd's Pie!

Cheddar -  i chose Cheddar but  it could  be any other cheese

I  used grape seed oil to cook the chopped onions, mushrooms and peppers
When done put in oven proof  plate
Rinse corn and lentils and you know why don't you ? when rinsed put over mushrooms, peppers and onions
Dice the tomato and put on top of lentils and corn
Cover with mashed sweet potatoes
Add shredded cheese

Cook 20 to 30 minutes  - 350 - Euro ouch! you will have to figure out the temp!

Cremate the cheese for the last 2 or 3 minutes

I hoped you enjoyed this post

I will be at Patti's Visible Monday and Monday Mingle

I will be back soon

This Is How I Style Jackets

Hi Ladies!

Welcome new followers and readers!

It Thursday! the week is almost over - the weekend is almost there!

I had a short work week that is good! nice when it happens

The fun stuff starts on the weekend for us 9 to 5 workers!

This post is about 2 jackets i had for a while -

I love these type of jackets - They are versatile and colorful and fun if styled accordingly

I had the matching skirt for this jacket - I did not keep it -
Now that i think about it Why didn't i keep it?
Oh well , i have this theory - Life is about not having regrets - Because if you constantly  think of things you might of or wish you have done -You will probably miss great arising opportunities !

I say live the moment!

I had fun putting those 2 outfits together - It came to me so easy
I was in the moment
Not always the case

I am like everybody else -  I ask myself what should i wear today?

I am trying out a new technique this week

I am starting with the bottom - and work my way up

What is your technique?

This weekend i will try to continue my painting

It has been sitting in my atelier for a while -

I hope you enjoyed this post

I will be back soon

Pink Tartan

Hi Ladies !
I hope you are all doing well

Did you notice the new banner?  Izzy did it!

I am so happy i think it represents who i am, what do you think?

I am enjoying this extended Thanksgiving weekend!

We had a full house all weekend -

Mr. D's grandson slept over Saturday and he helped us with the apple baking on Sunday

He learned how to make apple crisp under my supervision

Izzy slept over this Sunday - It was lots of fun - Leo the cat took to her - It is love between them 2  I   tell you

She took these pics - So much easier when someone takes the pics

Gives me a tripod and remote control break!

We took the pics in my hood on Ste-Catherine street

We had breakfast often at this place

I tried my hands on a Strudel using phyllo dough - this dough is much lighter and can be purchased and it is ready to use - This dough is often use to make greek pastries

Apple crisp, apple compote and apple, raisins strudel
I hope you enjoyed this post
