South Bound!

Sick leave is over!

My shoulder is a lot better, the extra month did me good!

$700 a month for therapy, you wish it will be worth it!

And it did!

I went thrift shopping at our top secret location

I was brave enough not to wear my coat for this shoot

Since my last week off is Vacation Time we decided to go south

Catch some sun and relax

Something A Little Different...

Hello Ladies!

Mr. D purchased a new lens for the camera - 50mm- f 1.4
So we took a stroll in the neighborhood to take some pics with the new lens!

-I love the sound of crickets in the evening and mourning doves at dawn.

-I like the work of artist Cindy Sherman.

- My nerve-endings spark when I watch a heavy curtain of rain get closer and closer.

-I play the piano badly because showing my emotions in a piece is too personal.

-When I play squash, my game improves when I channel great women of modern history.

-I have been in movie and TV scenes with George Clooney, Tom Cruise and Jim Carrey because I was the voice in their telephone answering machine.

- I iron clothes and vacuum in long, sweeping strokes, not short, jerky ones.

-I hate to see people ejecting fluids from their heads onto the sidewalk.

-As a child the only thing that made me like Sunday School was that I could show off a new handbag every week. (Does that make me a bad person?)

This is what i wore today, you have seen the skirt and shirt and of course those boots which are glued to my feet these days

This is my fabulous find this week, well, one of my find, i was so excited to show you this fabulous vintage wedding or cocktail coat found at that Presbyterian church downtown

I saw it last week but was not certain, but the more i thought about it the more i wanted it.

I was lucky it was there for me today, Ouf!!!

It needs a little bit of care but it is in good condition, there is a stain, i think the cleaner will be able to remove it or i will ask Izzy she is the stain remover master!

I do not know how i will style this and thinking to maybe giving it to Izzy.

Twice Is Good

Happy Valentine Day Dearests!

I made it this week at Visible Monday, check the blog out!

Today i am posting 2 outfits

The first outfit is a vintage dress that i thrifted at a shop called La Gaillarde.

I took me 2 visits to finally purchased the dress, i bought it because it was half price.

It needed a bit of mending.

I had my seamstress fix the zipper, saw up again the sides and fix seams that had come unstitched.

Total cost $14 ( dress and seamstress)

I am wearing the dress with my new Doc Martens

New haircut - Going for a bob- It is a start

Winter- Summer - Why wait? - I wanted to wear that skirt

Finally, i received last week my prize from Streets And People and plus they send me their magazine

You can not get this magazine in Canada - It is only available in Europe -

I am proud to be part of it - I only saw a handful of North Americans-Yeah! Canada!!

Plus a victory for the over fifty crowd!
I am 51 for you guys who don't know.

My Style And My Recent Thrift Finds

Hi Ladies!

First and foremost, please check my daughter Izzy's blog, she was invited to Montreal Fashion Week by the biggest blogger in Montreal - The Montreal blogging crowd is finally discovering her!
I think she is one of the best blogger in Montreal, now they have to discover the Mom who created such a styling genius:)

This post will be about 2 outfits i wore this week and some thrift finds at that lovely charity shop at the Presbyterian church downtown i discovered 2 weeks ago. I was on my way last week but it was closed due to the nasty weather we had.

I will take advantage of that marvelous discovery since i will not be able to go back when i returned to work in March -

Be assured that thrift shopping will continue when i returned to work, no way i will give it up! anyhoo, i am addicted, i need my fix!

All those items were thrifted except for the boots which were on sale for $10 at H&M

I wore the skirt before, so versatile and comfortable

Pretty funky,but it is my style!

Now the thrift finds...

This is the purse $2 and gloves that will compliment my dress at Izzy's wedding
The gloves were a bit more expensive $12, but they are one of kind and in mint condition

I need the hat and shoes, still looking!
