The Tip or the Top

Hi Ladies!
How was your weekend?
Mr D. is still busy with his house stuff but he said that next weekend he is taking off -

I miss my Mr. D -
I spent my Saturday with my girl
We went  for lunch in Old Montreal at a place called Olive and Gourmando -
Very tasty but the staff sorry to say was the Shats yes with a big S you know what i mean!
Montreal is a nice place but too often the service in restaurants and shops is the Shats not saying the real word here a bit of decorum...but you know what i mean!
I do know why - They say were are  friendly  probably all for the tourists, they don't give a Shats when it comes to the locals -
Here's my outfit

I am wearing Mr D's jacket

A minute ago Mr. D was looking at my pics - He said nice pics but are you wearing my coat?

I replied yes!

Cheeky he said!

Oh well!
We didn't leave a tip at  Olive and Gourmando

I hate it when the service is bad it ruins the whole experience

A few years ago i would have leave a tip no matter the service but  not anymore

I was the type that obied by the rules  - not anymore!

Rules are made to be broken -

Who makes the rules?

Annoyed by something, speak out and act!

Pompom on top requires no tip - Go figure, i had to justified my title

I will joining Patti's Visible Monday and Monday Mingle

I will be back soon

Je vous fais la bise

Ariane xxxx

Such a cute look, Ariane. I do know what you mean about poor service, it can be so irritating. I always used to tip no matter what, but now I will speak up. Getting older has its perks. : )

Slick skirt, and the pom pom beanie is so cute!
Ugh,bad service, there's no excuse! We don't have a tipping system here,so service can be hit or miss!

I love that cone on your head! That is a most fabulous hat - a unique and bold touch that takes this look to greater heights. Bwa-ha-ah, sorry. Gorgeous, Ariane! Too bad about the service. My pet peeve is going into a self-service place and being faced with a huge tip jar at the cash--?!

Red and black is one of my favourite colour combinations Ariane and the white with it looks fab. Love the houndstooth skirt, there's an old pic of my mum wearing one just like that in the 50's and I wish I had one just like it! I can cope with poor service if someone is trying their best but if they're just not bothered then it does annoy me. I'm a typical Brit though, I never complain! I have been a waitress in the past and probably not a very good one so poor service now is probably karma coming to get me. xx

So precious, love the hat too :) I hate bad service at places, it's not right when they are doing a service. And I like your lady like way of saying it too ;) I wouldn't have been too pleased!! Happy Monday doll xx

You look so cute, that pompom is adorable!
The only time I ever eat out is at the local Indian restaurant, the waiters there are our friends and always look after us. There's no excuse for crap service. x

Love that colour combination, you look toasty!
Shame about the crappy service at the restaurant. (Am I allowed to say crappy? I just said it twice!) xxx

I love the arte factor in your photographs today. Fantastic! Cute sleeves on that sweater. How can you look so chic yet so cozy at the same time?! I hate to say it, but I've found the service in Montreal sketchy myself. I thought it was just because we are tourists. Ah well...

hi arianne,
cold wind can come, your pompom is fantastic and when mr. d. is so generous to lend you his vest you are well prepared for winter.
i love your skirt and how you mixed it. fortunately i found a very similar one two weeks ago in the charity shop. i think i now have to buy me red socks too.
i completely agree with you, when the service is less the tip is also less and when there is nearly no service there is not tip at all.
enjoy your week, my dear!

Ariane, your skirt is awesome! It looks classic with black, white and red, and funky with short boots, red sock on white tights and Mr. D.'s vest! Well done!

It's many years ago I stopped tipping poor service. I decided I wouldn't be a fool for my own money. I will also send out food that isn't to the standard one can expect of the place/price.

Your outfit is creative and fun. Sorry you didn't have a good experience. I always want to tip well because I figure it's a way to support individuals as opposed to corporations, but when the service is really terrible? You just can't. I figure it's the law of natural consequences.

Have a great week!!

I LOVE your hat with its pompom and how its festive colors complement that beautiful skirt. Belting Mr. D's jacket only adds to the appeal. And of course the fingerless gloves!

I admire your audacious fashion sense.

You are adorable, and cheeky! I shared an apartment with a waitress when I was in University and so I know how hard they work and I always try to tip fairly, but crap service can completely ruin a meal and I no longer feel compelled to leave any tip if the service was bad.

sooo cute! Love the touches of red; and sometimes wearing white tights is harder to do than colors, no?

I am always in awe of how you create such wonderful outfits.
We are lucky that most places we go to have really good service. The worst is the carry out service where rarely do you get what you ordered and then don't know it until you get home. Maybe they are mad because they don't get tips?
